The Two-Body Problem

The Love Hypothesis follows Olive Smith, a third-year PhD candidate in biology at Stanford who doesn't believe in lasting romance but kisses intimidating professor Adam Carlsen on impulse to convince her best friend she's moved on from an ex. Adam unexpectedly agrees to fake-date her to help with her ruse and his own academic pressures, leading to a slow-burn arrangement filled with lab mishaps, conference drama, and unexpected chemistry that challenges Olive's skepticism about love and vulnerability. Amid research rivalries and personal insecurities, their pretense blurs into genuine connection, exploring trust, ambition, and the science of attraction in academia without key resolutions.
