The 5th Book in The Empyrean Series

The Empyrean series by Rebecca Yarros is a romantasy saga set in the kingdom of Navarre, where dragon riders train at the brutal Basgiath War College to defend against external threats amid failing protective wards. It centers on Violet Sorrengail, a frail 20-year-old forced by her general mother into the deadly Riders Quadrant instead of the safe Scribes, facing vicious rivals, impossible challenges, and bonding with a powerful dragon while uncovering leadership secrets. Her tense enemies-to-lovers dynamic with wing leader Xaden Riorson—son of a rebel traitor—fuels high-stakes intrigue, betrayals, and battles across Fourth Wing , Iron Flame , and Onyx Storm , blending aerial combat, political conspiracies, forbidden romance, and themes of resilience and hidden truths.
